WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS AFTER I BOOK MY WEDDING DJ?
The contract is signed and the deposit has been paid. Congrats! You’re now ready to start planning the wedding of your dreams with your DJ. But where to start?
Don’t worry, we can walk you through the process and help with any questions that may arise.
Your First Call. After you book with us, your DJ will reach out to set up an initial phone call, FaceTime or Zoom (your preference) so that you can talk about what you have planned up to that point. The calls usually last about 30-60 minutes and they are the perfect way for everyone to get introduced to each other (if you didn’t already take a pre-call with your DJ before you booked).
Your DJ will ask you a series of questions about the timeline of your day including details on your ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dance reception. They will also ask you questions about specific songs for different portions of the day and your music taste in general. If you don’t know the answers to certain things, don’t stress, we will always take notes and follow up on specific things that may not be worked out yet. They basically just want to get a general layout of the day and your expectations. At the end of this call, they will usually try to set up a final meeting date about one month before the wedding.
Your DJ will also email you their “Wedding Sheet” after the call which can be used as a blueprint for the day. The sheet is a timeline of the day that also gives you an idea of all the info they’ll need from you at your final meeting including specific songs for specific events, etc. You can fill it out throughout the year before the wedding and make changes as you go.
We’re Always Here. After your initial call, your DJ is available to discuss anything important at any point leading up to your wedding. If big changes are made or if you need guidance regarding any aspect of your big day, we are a wealth of info and always happy to help. Feel free to email your DJ directly with questions, or if a call is necessary, they will be happy to schedule one with you at your convenience. We don’t recommend sending your DJ random texts about specific songs you’d like to hear or small details (they may get lost in the shuffle of everyday life). However, you should definitely jot those ideas down somewhere so you can discuss it with them at your final meeting before the wedding.
Your Final Meeting. About one month before your wedding, it’s time to sit down and knock out all of the details and discuss anything that may have changed over the months. We really look forward to finally getting to meet up with you and your fiance in person!
Your DJ will reach out to confirm a date, time and location that works for all of you to sit down and discuss everything. Be sure to bring the Wedding Sheet they sent over after your initial call. That sheet is the DJs blueprint for your wedding day. All final details for the wedding should be discussed in length at this meeting and these meetings typically last anywhere from one to two hours. You will also pay the last half of your payment directly with your DJ at this meeting too.
When you leave this meeting, you and your fiance should have peace of mind knowing that everything is being handled by a professional. Sitting down to chat in person and go over everything truly makes your wedding day go smoother. You’ll feel more comfortable walking into your venue on your wedding day knowing who we are and that we’ve gone over every last detail less than a month before the big day.
