WEDDING TIPS - WHY THE BAR SHOULD BE CLOSE TO THE DANCE FLOOR
If you want your guests to pack the dance floor at your wedding, here’s a very simple tip. Make sure the bar is close to the dance floor. We think every measure should be taken to ensure your dance floor is PACKED!
Even the best DJs find it hard to make guests gravitate back to the dance floor when the venue is extremely large and the bar is on the other side of the building, or even worse, in another room!
If you’re dancing at a wedding and your drink runs low, you should be able to take a few steps off the floor, freshen up your drink then get right back to dancing with your friends and loved ones.
At many venues, they don’t have a permanent bar installed, they have pop up bars that can be set up ANYWHERE. Many times, the venue just places these bars in the same location week after week, away from the dance floor, not realizing they are taking away from the party! Once the bartenders are set up, it’s extremely difficult to move the bars.
When you’re planning your day, mention this to your venue coordinator or your wedding planner and make sure the bars are as close to the dance floor as possible.
This is especially important if your wedding is at a very large venue.
When your guests have to walk half a mile to the bar they are way more likely not to head directly back to the dance floor, it’s really that simple.
Creating the perfect atmosphere for guests to feel comfortable to dance is crucial at weddings. With the right combo of bar placement and lighting, a great DJ will be able to keep your guests dancing for hours on end.
