WEDDING TIPS - HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK MY DJ?

Great question! Since you’re on our website we’ll assume that the DJ is a VERY important part of your wedding planning.

We highly recommend booking your wedding DJ anywhere from 12-18 months before your wedding. Some of our DJs are in very high demand for weddings and have been booked out as far as 2.5 years before the actual wedding.

Another great reason to book your wedding DJ sooner is because the closer to your date you get, the more likely the DJs price will rise. This is because as their individual calendars fill up for the year, they are less likely to keep adding more weddings unless they see a price increase. Most DJs have a set amount of weddings they would like to handle during the year. They have a number in mind for many reasons but usually the main reason is that they feel like the more weddings they take on, the less likely they will be able to give the proper amount of attention to the couples who’ve already booked with them. This is very important to consider if there’s a particular DJ you absolutely want to book.

That being said, we won’t fully book a wedding until your venue is booked first. Booking your venue is a crucial first step because we factor in your venue location and size (amongst other factors) when we’re calculating quotes. Venue’s can also be booked out years in advance so it’s always a great first step to lock down your venue first.
